Title: "Habermas and Discourse Theory"
This Sunday, we move to a topic adjacent to Skepticism: we will discuss Jürgen Habermas and Discourse Theory. How can involved participants discuss and formulate a 'norm'? How does this process work when including all members of the community? This is a complex topic, so please prepare your cup of steaming coffee before the meeting! If we have time, Scott will cover the evolution of Habermas from the Frankfurt school writings of Horkheimer and Adorno, plus Dan will compare the ideas of Habermas to Amy Allen (Professor of Philosophy at Penn State) and John Rawls (created the philosophical term "original position"). Please join StoicDan and Scott this Sunday for "Habermas and Discourse Theory".
