Pedaler Ride - August 13
Details
Ernie Rodrigues Softball Field
MEET 8:30am
ROLL 8:45am
*The TriValley weather gnomes called it right for August 6...it was too hot to ride locally. The Bay/Alameda ride created by Ben Wong was perfect--->minimal wind/traffic/walkers...and lots of sun...
**Is it possible? Livermore schools start on August 12 and Pleasanton K-12 schools start up on August 13??? Not good news for the Pedalers.
***We will move the Meet/Roll point to Ernie Rodrigues Softball Field on S. Livermore Ave.
**Pedaler Route--->Staying local and avoiding the usual chaos expected from the first week of area schools.
***Route: Nothing dramatic...just-here-and-there- arrive at Sycamore Grove Park out-and-back then more here-and-there back to the LivLibrary.
**Bring your helmet, tube, and water. We anticipate 'clothing adjustment stops' along the way. Restrooms/water are available at E.Rodrigues
****Special Show & Go ride set for Saturday, August 22
# South Bay Show-N-Go: Trails, Wildlife, lunch! - August 22
Start Location: Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge
(2 Marshlands Rd, Fremont, CA 94555)
After turning onto Marshlands Road, it's the first Parking lot on the right.
There is a porta potty at the parking lot)
Meet: 8:45 am
Roll: 9:00 am
GPS Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56430745
40.4 miles, 245 ft
Let's stay near the Bay and explore the South Bay a little! We'll use lots of off-street paths, and well-marked bike lanes. The gravel sections can be ridden on narrow road tires, but bring your wide-tire bike if you have one! We'll pass by Moffett Field (NASA Ames) and visit an egret rookery on the Google campus. Lunch is at the 27.5-mile point at Michael's (Shoreline golf course), followed by the closing stretch over the Dumbarton Bridge.
**The Ride Sweep will ensure that the group remains together. This is a "NO DROP" ride and is e-bike friendly. Cycling etiquette is essential. No SAG cars provided.
**Pedaler Hosts will do their best to accurately (and appropriately) use adjectives like "mellow...affable" when describing the weekly Thursday rides.
Attendees are limited to 30 who have signed for the ride in advance.
