You may remember Alan Rockefeller from his Psilocybin Mushroom Identification lecture earlier this year. He's been up to quite a bit since then, he's recently returned from 5 months of mushroom hunting in Mexico, and more recently he just published a paper naming a new hallucinogenic mushroom from the West Coast of the USA (http://www.czechmycology.org/_cmo/CM64207.pdf).
He returns to the San Francisco Psychedelic Society for a special hands-on event: IN THE WILD! Mushroom Hunt and Identification.
During this event Alan Rockefeller will take us around Golden Gate park and show us the basics of mushroom hunting and identification. We will look at the mushrooms that grow wild in the park including some species that are edible.
Alan will show you the basics of IN THE WILD mushroom identification including:
• San Francisco's edible, toxic and hallucinogenic species
• Common lookalikes
• Mushroom identification
• Mushroom habitats
• And More

About the Presenter:
Alan Rockefeller is a mycologist specializing in mushroom taxonomy. He has been collecting mushrooms for ten years, and has traveled to Mexico to collect mushrooms for the past 6 summers. Alan is a network security expert, a moderator at the Shroomery Mushroom Hunting and Identification Forum, and posts all of his mushroom photographs on mushroomobserver.org (http://mushroomobserver.org/).
