LPQC Special Convention

Details
On Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the members of the Libertarian Party of Queens County are invited to participate in a LPQC Special Convention where candidates will have an opportunity to make a pitch to receive the LPQC endorsement to run in the upcoming Special Election to fill the vacancy in the 9th C.D. that arose because of Anthony Weiner's resignation. There will also be a vote to increase Life Membership dues in the Libertarian Party of Queens County from $200.00 to $400.00.
Bohemian Hall is located at 29-19 24th Avenue in Astoria, New York.
To vote at the LPQC Nominating Convention, you need to be an LPQC member. Membership costs $20.00 and you can purchase your membership just before the LPQC Nominating Convention is called to order.
The nominated candidate will also need to obtain the formal endorsement of the Kings County Libertarian Party in order to call themselves the Libertarian Party nominee. You do not need to live in the 9th C.D. to run but since you will need to obtain about 5,000 valid petition signatures within approximately 10 days to get on the ballot, it is recommended you be prepared to spend at least $10,000.00 on the petition drive alone.
