Contracts 101

Buying real estate is not like buying a pair of shoes, or signing a User Agreement. There is time, big money, and big resource commitments involved in EVERY transaction. You need to know what you're committing to. Contracts are not a glamorous part of the business, but it is a CRITICAL element of your business throughout your career.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of investors, REALTORS, and others in the investment world who do not understand the CRITICAL importance of contracts, addendums, and releases, nor do they take the time to learn, IN ADVANCE, what it is they are signing. Then, when the inevitable problems, misunderstandings, and confusion arise AFTER the fact, thats where everything unravels, and adversity grows.

As you know, I'm a strong advocate for A2REIC Members to be PROACTIVE in transactions, not REACTIVE, and there is no more important element in the transaction than the contract. It's not only the SALES contract, but there are Agency Contracts, Disclosures, Addendums, Contingencies, etc. It's always best for you to learn these SOONER rather than LATER, when, in the case of contracts, is often TOO late to learn.

During this fast paced session, I'll walk you through a few standard contracts, common contingencies, misconceptions, and required documents created by attorneys that are necessary, but make no sense.
