What we’re about
25 years ago, I was a committed Christian fundamentalist. I read J.I. Packer's "Knowing God" and decided I needed to figure out more of where this godly giant was coming from. I visited a conservative Presbyterian church (conservative because I was/am committed to the Bible's inspiration; Presbyterian because I figured they're "reformed" like Packer is). I had a great ongoing discussion with a seasoned Reformed Christian which started my journey. I've been a Presbyterian pastor for 13 years, which includes 8 years as a missionary in Uganda and 4 years in Sterling, VA. I'd like to replicate what that faithful man did for me so many years ago - if you're wondering about Reformed Theology - what it is, whether it is most consistent with Scripture and church history, let's study it together. My ultimate goal for this group is to persuade you of the beauty of the whole counsel of God, encourage you in your ongoing sanctification, if you are not a member of a Reformed church to invite you to come check out Sterling Presbyterian, and to strengthen our effectiveness in sharing the beauty of Christ and his Church with the unsaved in Loudon and Fairfax counties
