Tuesday, Tuesday, RMCC Climbing Tuesday! At Night, with Lights!
Join us for the RMCC tradition: Tuesday night climbing. We meet at Beverly Heights Park at the base of Lookout. We'll group up about 5:25pm for introductions, route overview, sign-in, and other formalities. We plan to roll about 5:30.
Headlights and tail lights are required. Batteries don't always tolerate cold weather, so I strongly suggest bringing a backup for each, minimally something to ensure you can be seen if a light fails.
We'll follow our standard short route, adjusting based on weather and road conditions. Changes will largely be a game-time decision, covered in the route walk-through and potentially adjusted as we progress.

The pace will be somewhat more relaxed than our summer rides, however it remains a drop/regroup ride. Generally speaking if you're able to complete Lookout solo in ~30 minutes you'll have little trouble rejoining at the regroup points. Much longer and you may be left to chase to catch the group. Expect some separation on the climbs, with opportunities to rejoin at one of several regroup points. Being comfortable in a draft will help on some of the flatter / roller sections.
We'll ride under most conditions as long as roadways are clear. Temperatures at the top are typically 20-30 degrees colder than at start, and a few locations will be colder still (looking at you, Ice Box). Come prepared for a wide range of temperatures. I try to comment the day of the ride if there's anything I feel needs to be considered.
This event will be canceled if weather or roadways are not conducive for a safe, fun ride. We'll cancel as early as possible, however be prepared for game-time calls as conditions can be unpredictable - particularly in winter!
