Film and Discussion Night at Reason Center
Details
Film and Discussion Night is co-sponsored by Reason Center and Atheists and Other Freethinkers.
Movie nights in person in the Library at the Reason Center in Sacramento. We are at 1300 Ethan Way, Suite 675-B in the back corner of the building. We provide the popcorn, feel free to bring your own snacks as well. It may be a good idea to bring a lawn chair if you have one, just in case.
The actual movie is a secret, because of our MPLC License (https://www.mplc.org/page/the-umbrella-license) and the stodgy rule of law -- but we can slip you a hint. We also encourage a post-film discussion, which makes this educational, sort of.
This 2025 film is a live broadcast of a play written by George Clooney and Grant Heslov and is rated 7.8 on IMDB. It is a dramatization of how the press became involved in the red scare and took extreme risks to inform Americans of the dangers. It also deals with the ways television both entertains and isolates us.
There is no fee to attend, but we do appreciate your donations to Reason Center. Mark your calendar! We want to see you!
