The Railroad (not a literal railroad) brought together a diverse group of people in the fight against slavery and slavers. From the deep south, the journey to Canada and sometimes to Mexico (yes Mexico abolished slavery in 1829, and if you didn't know, shame on you for sleeping in Mrs. Grundy's history class). Perilous for all involved, it required courage and ingenuity, and sometimes some pretty fast thinking.
