Liam is going to tell you about the controversy regarding the Hubble Constant in laymen's terms. You do not need to be a math & science whizz to understand and you will definitely learn something about astronomy.

The Hubble Constant has been one of the most contentious values in astronomy. Because it is connected to the age and expansion of the Universe, it is a fundamental value in all of cosmology.

From the beginning, where two researchers had values that were different by 100% to the unclosed gap between two methods today, the debate over the value of the Hubble Constant shows no signs of ending. Find out why this is and why it matters.

Liam McDaid is a professor (retired) of Physics, Astronomy, and History at the Sac City College campus. He has a BS in Astronomy from Penn State, an MS in Astronomy from New Mexico State, an MA in History from Sam Houston State, and an MS in Physics from New Mexico State.
