Where Are We Headed?

Starting from the ice cream store, we will head through William Land Park, running in front of the Sacramento Zoo, then turning right along the southern perimeter of the zoo, and crossing Sutterville Road to take the newly created “Del Rio Trail” that extends almost all of the way to the town of Freeport along the Sacramento River. This is a relatively flat paved trail that has electronic-crosswalks at all of the places where it intersects neighborhood streets.

It is an exact mile from the ice cream store to the front of the Sacramento Zoo, and then the pathway goes for almost five miles until it reaches its destination at the Conlin Youth Sports Complex Park near the intersection of Freeport Boulevard and Pocket Road.

Distance and pace will be determined by the participants and their individual training plans.
