Where Are We Headed?

Meeting in the parking lot of the Tupelo Coffee House, we will run east on H Street, through the Union Pacific Railroad tunnel, get up on to the levee, go underneath the H Street/Police Officer Tara O’Sullivan Memorial bridge, then pick up the paved trail that leads to the Sacramento State University campus. At that point, we will cross the Guy West Bridge, and then pick up the American River Recreational Trail, near the 8.0-mile marker. Heading upstream, we will reach the Watt Avenue bridge, cross it, and then go downstream on the other side of the American River. Upon reaching the Guy West Bridge again, participants have the option of choosing to cross the bridge again, therefore repeating the same “loop”, or continuing back on the paved trail to our starting point.

The distance to the Guy West Bridge, from the starting point, is about 1.5-miles. Each loop, going from the Guy West Bridge to the Watt Avenue bridge, and then back again, is nearly five miles long. Participants can do as many loops as fit their individual training plans.

Typically, someone is there at this location fifteen minutes before the listed starting time should you want to engage in some personal pre-workout stretching.
