Long-time STVS President and social justice and animal rights advocate, passed away on January 27. Please join us in a celebration of Don's life on April 11. Please RSVP through the attached invitation link.
You are invited to gather together on April 11 with others who loved our friend and brother Don Knutson. Located at the Reason Center in Sacramento, wheelchair accessible. 1:00-2:00 -- Vegan potluck. Bring whatever dish you like, savory or sweet, as long as it is vegan... meaning no meat, fish, fowl, eggs, dairy or honey. Please, as per Don's wishes, no alcohol. 2:00-4:00 -- A time for sharing brief reminiscences of Don. Do try to limit your words to two minutes so that everyone who wants to speak will have time. Cost: $55 per person
Join us for a hands-on, oil-free cooking class where you’ll learn how to make your own thick yogurt from scratch and prepare a delicious Mediterranean meal.
In this interactive class and demonstration, you will:
- Learn the basics of thick yogurt-making and food science
- Practice hands-on skills like chopping, mixing, and water sautéing
- Discover a technique for making yogurt using a pressure cooker
- Explore useful kitchen tools and equipment
At the end of the class, we’ll enjoy the dishes we’ve prepared together, plus additional offerings from the restaurant.
Class Menu
- Appetizer: Beet hummus served with a fresh veggie plate
- Salad: Homemade thick yogurt tzatziki & simple Greek salad
- Main: Lebanese moussaka served with pita bread and yogurt garnish
- Dessert: Choice of restaurant desserts, served with yogurt garnish
