Peaceful Protest Animal Cruelty: Sac Town Rodeo at Cal Expo

If you are one who likes to protect animals and keep them from harm, then come out and let people know that rodeos cause innocent animals fear, stress, pain and injury! They are pushed to perform unnatural behaviors, like bucking or fleeing, through devices like the "hotshot" (electric prod) to make them react dramatically out of fear of pain. They use "bucking straps" which cause pain and injuries. Baby calves are chased lassoed around the neck, and then slammed to the ground (called calf roping).This can result in injuries like bruised and broken ribs, choking, and damage to the windpipe and neck. They then have elevated stress hormones.

Steer wrestling involves twisting a steer's neck, which can cause severe injury. Even in transportation, they are crowded into stressful conditions over long distance, often without food or water.
Injuries to the animals including horses, bulls, steers and calves, can suffer torn ligaments, internal injuries and, even death.
