Salsa Styling & Footwork Workshop with Jewell!
Ready to level up your style on the dance floor? Join us for a special Ladies Salsa Styling and Footwork Workshop with the fabulous Jewell—open to all levels and welcoming both leaders and followers!
This workshop is designed to help you move with confidence, control, and flavor! We’ll break down the technique behind body movement and the fundamentals of Salsa, so you can truly understand how and why your body moves.
First Hour: Dive into body isolations, hip movement, and arm styling to elevate your expression. The focus will be on technique and styling drills to build a strong foundation.
Second Hour: Put it all together in a fun and dynamic choreography you’ll perform with the group at the end. If you prefer to practice the choreography but not perform it, that’s great too!
What to bring:
Heels or dance shoes—whatever helps you feel your best and dance your fiercest!
Come solo or bring a friend—this is your time to shine, connect, and strut your stuff. Let’s make it a stylish afternoon to remember!

About your instructor Jewell: She is a passionate Salsa and Bachata dancer with a dynamic four-year journey in the Bay Area dance scene. From captaining SJSU’s Spartan Mambo salsa team to dancing with Sparchata and training with leading Bachata instructors, she’s built a solid foundation in Latin dance. Currently, she’s pushing her limits by training with competitive Salsa teams in San Francisco and performed with Tannia Cannarsa and Karol Flores’s Salsa ladies styling teams, adding a polished edge to her expertise. Jewell also embraces diverse dance styles like Heels and Hula, and loves connecting with the community through social dancing. She’s excited to share her knowledge and passion, believing that dance is a powerful tool for self-expression and connection.

San Mateo, CA 94401Pre-Intermediate Level Class: You’ve learned the fundamentals, you can lead or follow the basic turns, and you’ve had a taste of the social dance floor. What’s next? If you’re not quite ready for the speed and complexity of our Intermediate class, our Pre-Intermediate level is your perfect next step! This class is dedicated to helping you transition smoothly from a beginner to an intermediate dancer. We will review and polish the essential techniques while introducing new concepts that will build your vocabulary and confidence. The focus here is on connection, combinations, and control.
*Pre-requisite: Completion of our Bachata Beginner Level class consistently for a period of 6 months or a solid understanding of the basic step, right and left turns, cross body leads, basic partner connection, open to close position and right to right, left to left hand position. This is the perfect class to build confidence and flow.
Intermediate Level Class: This is the right class if you have been taking consistently our Pre-Intermediate Level Class for a period of at least 1 year (this will depend on your pace of learning) or by the teachers recommendation. In this class you will learn more intricate patterns, turns, arm styling, body isolations and musicality, all while building the confidence and vocabulary you need to feel even better dancing on the social floor!
