Night Ride - Mormon Pioneer West (Intermediate)

The Ride: We’ll be riding the Mormon Pioneer Trail from the trailhead by Little Dell Reservoir (park on the left side) all the way to the top of Big Mountain Pass and then back down. This out-and-back ride is just under 14 miles total with a steady, sustained climb of around 1,400 feet to the top—nothing too technical, but it’s a solid leg-burner. The reward? Gorgeous views, a smooth descent, and some good old-fashioned type-2 fun.

This is a great ride for intermediate riders with solid fitness and basic technical skills. The trail is mostly non-technical singletrack with a few rocky sections and switchbacks on the way up. The descent is fast, fun, and flowy with some tight corners and loose spots to keep you on your toes.

What You'll Need:

• Night riding lights! One for your handle bars and one for your helmet.
• Gloves and a light jacket (temps can drop fast after sunset)
• A good attitude and sense of adventure
