Update as of 11/23/25 - the potluck is still proceeding as planned! But please see the notes below about weather.

The Ace and Ally Mixer + Potluck will be at Beresford Park in San Mateo. We've reserved picnic area 2. Park map here.

We’re doing a potluck! Folks are welcome to bring foods they want to eat and/or share. Sign up sheet here. The first tab is for bringing food and drinks. The second tab is for volunteering for setting up, grilling, and cleaning up. Feel free to bring lawn games if you have them.

What should I bring?

Yourself! Bringing food or drinks for the potluck is encouraged but not required (No alcohol please!). For those who do bring potluck items, please also bring a list of ingredients so that anyone with allergies or other dietary restrictions can stay safe.

How can I find you at the park?

We will be in picnic area 2 on the north side of the park, which is right next to the area where we met for last year’s event. Look for ace flags!

Can I bring a friend? They’re not ace or aro though.

Yes, please bring a friend! Allies are welcomed. And if your fam needs to see happy aces to believe that you’re happy as you are, and they’re nice about it, bring them too! This is a casual hangout to low key spread ace awareness.

Please note: The parking lot area adjacent to the Beresford Community Garden will be closed for construction. While this nearby construction will not directly impact the picnic sites directly, parking may be more limited than usual in that immediate area. Other Beresford Park parking lots remain open and available for use.

What if it rains?
There is currently about a 20% chance of intermittent light rain during the weekend. We will be proceeding with the picnic as planned, and will also have shade tents that can provide some protection from any drizzles we do get. However, we do advise attendees to bring a light raincoat and umbrella just in case, and be prepared for wet grass. If you are undecided on what you are bringing to the potluck, you may also want to bring something that is safe to eat without additional cooking, just in case the additional damp causes any issues with grilling.

We look forward to seeing you there!
