## Details
There are evenings that stay with you long after the last note has faded.
This is one of them.Join us for an evening of Hindustani classical vocal music with Swati Jhaveri — a journey through ragas that span the breadth of human emotion, from the profound and contemplative to the tender and joyful.
The program moves through the classical tradition with intention and heart: from the weight of a full-throated khayal to the playful intimacy of a thumri, and culminating in an original composition that reflects Swati's own voice within the lineage she carries.Trained in the Indore and Mewati gharana traditions, Swati brings to the stage a rare ability to hold depth and warmth in equal measure.
She will be accompanied by Tushar Gupte on tabla and Satyam Bagwe on harmonium.
An evening of music in its most honest form.
Swati Jhaveri pursues music with a deep passion. She is currently under the guidance of Pandit Hemang Mehta (disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj and Pandit Chandrasekhar Swamy) of the Mewati Gharana and Vidushi Kankana Banerjee of the Indore and Mewati Gharana (disciple of Ustad Amir Khan Sahib and Pandit Pratap Narayan) as part of the guru shishya parampara.
Swati started learning music at the age of 4 and has had the opportunity to study with many learned gurus including Pandit Pratap Narayan, Pandit Askaran Sharma, and Pandit Sougata Banerjee. She started a non profit called “Swara Institute for Music Research and Appreciation” with the purpose of improving the reach of Indian Classical music through teaching, content creation, and supporting under-privileged, retired, and upcoming musicians.
Swati has produced a series of classical singles with a contemporary touch on popular platforms, in an attempt to make classical music palatable to wider masses and our younger generation.
Tushar Gupte is an accomplished Tabla virtuoso with over 25 years of experience, a dedicated music educator, composer, and performer who blends traditional Indian rhythms with contemporary expressions. Currently honing skills under the esteemed Pt. Aditya Kalyaanpur and working with the New England School of Music (NESOM), Massachusetts, as a Tabla Tutor.
Satyam Bagwe began his musical journey under his father, Shri Gopinath Bagwe — a revered Bhajan singer from Sindhudurga, Maharashtra — learning both vocals and harmonium from an early age. His devotion to the art led him to win several Bhajan competitions and perform at temples. He trained under Pandit Suryakant Gaikwad of the prestigious Patiala Gharana and continues his journey under the young maestro Shri. Ramakant Gaikwad.
