Hiking to the Golden Gate Bridge

For our next adventure, we begin at the Sutro Baths ruins and hike the Lands End Trail eastward. This coastal path winds through cypress groves and rugged bluffs with spectacular views of the Marin Headlands and the Pacific. Look for signs pointing to Eagle’s Point, where the trail descends toward Lincoln Park and eventually connects with Batteries to Bluffs Trail via the Coastal Trail.

Follow the signs past China Beach and Baker Beach to reach the Golden Gate Bridge Overlook. The full one-way trek is approximately 3.5 miles and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on pace and photo stops. Be prepared for stairs, uneven ground, and changing weather.

To return, retrace your steps or catch a rideshare or bus from the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center. For those wanting a full round-trip hike, plan for 7 miles total, with rest stops and ample time to soak in the scenery. I will be returning to our starting point for any interested in the full walk.
