Ken’s Custom Walk: Special Stairways & Iconic Views

Join me for one of my favorite custom routes through the hidden heart of San Francisco. This carefully crafted loop connects some of the city’s most beautiful stairways, hidden pathways, and breathtaking viewpoints into one memorable urban adventure.

We’ll begin at 19th & Douglas and explore:

  • Kite Hill
  • The historic Pemberton Steps
  • Tank Hill and its spectacular panoramic views
  • The Monument
  • The colorful Saturn Street Steps
  • The legendary Vulcan Stairway
  • Rocky Mountain and its hidden trails and overlooks

This walk showcases the San Francisco I love—quiet residential streets, secret stairways, unexpected nature, fascinating history, and one incredible vista after another. Along the way I’ll share stories about the neighborhoods, the stairways, and the city that only come from decades of exploring as a fourth-generation San Franciscan.

Walk Details:

  • Distance: Approximately 4 miles
  • Elevation Gain: About 1,000 feet
  • Duration: Around 2 hours
  • Difficulty: Moderate to moderately challenging, with plenty of stairs and hills
  • Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, layers, and your camera.

This isn’t a race—it’s a chance to slow down, discover hidden corners of the city, and experience San Francisco from perspectives that even many longtime residents have never seen.

If you love hidden gems, great conversations, and unforgettable views, I’d love to have you along. Let’s discover another side of San Francisco together.
