About us
The Southern California Astrological Network [SCAN] is Orange County 's premier group of astrologers who meet to discuss a variety of topics using astrological concepts and techniques.
Celebrating 30 years of dedication to astrology, the SCAN Board has worked to provide a central point where members and guests can assemble to share and learn in-depth perspectives using astrology to formulate, review and forecast events, and to receive insight that may be relevant to our own chart and those of our clients.
Dinner meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month, with notable speakers lecturing on astrological topics. Meetings are centrally located at Polly's Pies in Laguna Hills, Orange County.

Learn to understand the significant medical impact of the North and South Lunar Nodes in
Astrological Medicine. Judith Hill was the first to extensively and empirically document the distinctly medical influences of both natal and transit lunar nodes within the Western system. In this presentation she explicates how the north and south lunar nodes modify the energy and function of natal planets (in opposite ways) by conjunction and square. Potential astrological remediations will be included. This practical information constitutes essential and extremely useful knowledge for most astrological practices. This promises to be an astrologically nutritious event!This is a hybrid event: we'll meet in person at the beautiful 19th Hole Restaurant & Lounge with a live stream via Zoom. As always, locals are welcome to join us at 6:00 pm for dinner & social time.

Judith Hill is a life time astrologer and award winning author of fourteen books including the classics: "Medical Astrology, A Guide to Planetary Pathology”; “The "Astrological Body Types”; The Lunar Nodes: Your Key to Excellent Chart Interpretation; and “Vocational Astrology" (winner of the 1999 American Federation of Astrologers, Inc. “Best Book Award).
She founded The Academy for Astrological Medicine, and many original courses, including Medical Astrology 101; and created The Renaissance Medicine Conferences, the first herbal-medical astrology conflation conferences in the USA. She is the leader of the NCGR Empirical Medical Astrology SIRG group. Hill served as the Educational Director for the San Francisco NCGR. As a “road tested” astrologer, she successfully matched five charts to five biographies in a 1989 NCGR sponsored skeptic’s challenge. She is also an internationally recognized pioneer of astro-seismic and astro-genetics research, and served as a private assistant to physicist Arthur Young at The Institute for the Study of Consciousness. Hill is a Chartered Herbalist with The Dominion Herbal College and faculty with Kepler College, The Astrology Hub and MWI.

Loda Shaw has studied and taught astrology for more than 30 years. His accomplishments include co-founding, with Judy Johns, the Los Angeles–based Round Art astrology group in 2001, and contributing regular writings on sports and astrology for Aquarius Magazine and other publications. He has lectured extensively on the Saturn cycle and its practical applications in daily life, and has been an active speaker for numerous astrological organizations throughout Southern California since 2001.
Loda is a member of the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR), San Diego chapter, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Phoenix. His journey into astrology began as a student-athlete at Ohio University, when a chance encounter with a practicing astrologer in New York City sparked a lifelong passion. Today, Loda continues to teach, write, and consult with a broad astrological clientele from his home in Loveland, Colorado.2 attendees
