- Sunday Walk: Tring Canal and Tring Park LoopThe Black Horse Tring, Tring
This is a new route I've been devising around the historic town of Tring, to take in all it has to offer, and which we were going to walk in April until it was rescheduled. We'll do some canal walking and some rolling hills and great scenery from Tring Park, and also enjoy a lot of the splendid architecture of the many unique and unusual buildings of Tring, which you can of course explore further afterwards. 7 miles, walking time approx. 2.5 to 3 hours.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
If you wish to you can stay afterwards for a post-walk chat, drink and pub food.
Parking
There is off road parking in the residential roads opposite the Black Horse pub. There are also three public car parks within 100 yards of the pub.Travelling from London / by Train
There is now a new, on-demand bus service called HertsLynx which runs from all three nearby train stations; Berkhamsted, Tring and Hemel Hempstead. Depending on availability, you can book in advance to get from these stations to many of the walk start points for £2 each way.The HertsLynx app is free and the service stops in Tring High Street, two minutes walk from the Black Horse pub (the name of the stop you require is 'Tring - Church Square').
Note: If you're coming by train please note that Tring Station is two miles away.

- Saturday Walk from Markyate to StudhamMarkyate Cricket & Football Club, St Albans
This is a picturesque route from Markyate to Studham via Roe End and Studham Common, and a very nice route for walking. Our route takes us through delightful woods and along wide country tracks with many views over rolling hills. It's 6.25 miles and will take about 2.5 hours.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
After the walk, there's the option to stay for a drink and a chat at The Swan pub in Markyate.
Free Parking
We'll meet outside the entrance of Markyate Cricket and Football Club, on Cavendish Road, Markyate, where there is a car park, and there's also roadside parking.Travelling from London / by Train

- Wednesday Evening Walk from Aldbury VillageThe Greyhound Inn, Tring
This is a glorious 5 mile walk from the picture postcard village of Aldbury, through the stunning Aldbury valley which will be spectacular at this time of year and day. There's also long distance views across the plains from the lush grass ridge of Pitstone Hill. These views reach across to Tring Park, and also look down on Pitstone Windmill. Walking time about 2 hours.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
After the walk there's the option of staying for a chat, drink and/or food at the Greyhound Inn.

- Saturday Walk from Berkhamsted Station to Great Coldharbour FarmBerkhamsted Railway Station, Berkhamsted
This is a delightful 6.3 mile route to take in the forest paths of Berkhamsted Common, the ridge overlooking Berkhamsted and crossing the wide open space of Northchurch Common, before returning to a drink in the Crystal Palace pub on the canal (pictured). Walking time approximately 2.5 hours. We'll meet outside the front of Berkhamsted Railway Station.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
After the walk we have the option to go for a drink and/or food at the Crystal Palace pub, which is nearest and is a nice spot on the canal 100 yards from the station.

Parking may be available at the Canal Fields Car Park, which is accessed by Broadwater. (Take Lower Kings Road over the canal, turn left into Broadwater and follow the windy road past Berkhamsted Football Club.) Please note that there are no public toilets in that car park but it is possible to use the nearby Waitrose facilities.
Please give yourself fifteen minutes to find somewhere to park in case the main Canal Fields Car Park is full. Parking along the road by Berkhamsted Castle should also be possible.

- Tuesday Evening Walk from the Half Moon at WilstoneHalf Moon, Tring
This is a dreamy new evening walk of about 4.5 miles along gorgeous canals and winding through picture postcard rural village scenes, reservoirs and meadows; a delightful breath of fresh air at the end of the day - and also virtually an all flat route. Walking time approx. 2 to 2.5 hours.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
After the walk there's the option of staying for a chat, drink and food at the Half Moon pub in Wilstone, which is just outside Tring.
