Moderate hike/walk at Black's Beach Trail

Join us on this gorgeous trail to a beautiful beach. It's a great place to watch some talented surfers! We will park in the neighborhood at La Jolla Farms area of La Jolla and meet at the Gate on the intersection of La Jolla Farms Road and Blackgold Road. We will walk down the steep paved road to Black's Beach and proceed to walk down the beach for about an hour+ then returning the same way we came. There are restrooms at the bottom of the road. The walk back up is pretty steep and will definitely get your heart pumping, but its a short climb. This walk on the beach is about 5 miles and rated moderate. This will be a relaxing way to start the day!

NOTE: Black's Beach is a nudist beach so if you are sensitive to that, this is not the hike for you.

Please come prepared with plenty of water, good walking shoes and perhaps a small towel to clean feet if you want to walk in the surf. Its always windy here, so layers are a good idea.

We will meet at the SUNDT MEMORIAL GATE at 7:45. We will start walking at 8:00am sharp, so leave PLENTY of time to arrive and park.

This hike is beginner friendly

As organizers, we will do our best to give accurate descriptions of the hikes we post. Please note, this is NOT a race or fast pace hike. Plan on up to 2.5 hours on the trail. If you're a beginning hiker, a hike's elevation and distance may not mean much to you. Likewise, difficulty ratings are subjective, and a hike that is "easy" to one person may be "moderate" to another. Error on the side of caution if you are unsure.
