What do you guys think about Colchuck Lake this Saturday?

Details

The first time you round the corner and come out of the trees at Colchuck Lake is something of a religious experience. Suddenly, laid out beneath your feet are the icy waters of the lake–-deep blue in the shade, bright aquamarine in sunlight–-while high above you at the far end of the lake, the twin spires of Dragontail and Colchuck Peaks seem to crowd out the very sky.

Colchuck Lake Trail is a 8.5 mile out and back trail located Leavenworth, Washington that features a lake and the peaks are incredible. Amazing day hike. Members will enjoy a moderate to hard hike. And all this is within relatively easy reach. While the final ascent to the lake is a little steep and rough in places. But the end is stupendous !!

This hike has a pretty moderate incline and as a medium level hiker it wasn't too much of a challenge. I thought because of the mileage it might be a bit of a process for me but surprisingly it went smoothly. There are so many beautiful places to take breaks along the trail.

There are many creeks, small waterfalls and beautiful trees and greenery along the trail. Honestly, this hike is so worth it. When you finally get to the top its just incredible. The color of Colchuck is hypnotizing. It is a tranquil teal blue and the ice caps and glaciers nearby on Asgard are pretty cool. It is such a great place for photographs. An amazing hike for anyone in my opinion!
