About us

Once a year we put on orange bodysuits and walk six blocks of Tennyson Street to raise money to help kids get outside to explore Colorado. This is the second one.

Friday, October 2 · 5:30 PM · The Grateful Gnome

Check in at the Gnome, drop a donation, grab a wristband, and head south. Five stops, drink specials at every one, a costume contest around eight, and last call at the Berkeley Inn.

It's also First Friday — Tennyson turns into a street fair, galleries open late, food trucks, live music. October's is the season finale, the biggest one of the year. Last year we wrapped up right as it was getting going. Not doing that again.

THE ROUTE

5:30 – 6:30 — The Grateful Gnome, 4369 Stuart St (check-in + donations)
6:30 – 7:30 — Alley Brews, 4342 Tennyson St (door off 44th, in the alley)
7:30 – 8:30 — Berkeley Untapped, 4267 Tennyson St
~8:00 — Costume contest, 41st & Tennyson Park (right outside Untapped)
8:30 – late — Berkeley Inn, 3834 Tennyson St

It's a floating crawl. Stay at one stop all night or hit all five. We hand out maps at check-in.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES

Every dollar goes to Environmental Learning for Kids. Since 1996, ELK has been getting Denver kids outdoors and into science — about six thousand a year, ages five to twenty-five, mostly from neighborhoods the city's outdoor programs never reached. We don't take a cut and we don't cover our costs out of it. We publish the total after the crawl.

WHAT TO WEAR

Orange, head to toe. Yellow mustache. Bring a spare — the glue gives out around stop two. Specials at most bars are for people in costume.

DETAILS

Free to join. Donations at check-in, $10 suggested minimum, Venmo or in person. 21+. Show up whenever — we'll be moving south all night.
