About us
PLEASE NOTE! MANY OF OUR EVENTS ARE ATTENDED BY "HUB REGULARS" WHO DO NOT RSVP FOR EVENTS. THERE ARE OFTEN/ALWAYS MANY MORE PEOPLE AT EVENTS THAN WHAT IS SHOWING IN THE ATTENDING COUNT.
The vision of the Secular Hub is a vibrant community where atheists, agnostics, humanists, and their families can meet, support each other, have fun, and explore ethics, science, and the human condition. We seek to establish a positive presence that contributes to the society at large.
The Secular Hub is a friendly place where non-believers find camaraderie, learn, and give back to the community. Our members organize educational events, social activities, and volunteer opportunities.
Note: Membership to this Meetup is open to all; however some Secular Hub events are only open to dues-paying members of the Secular Hub. Become a member of the Hub!

Chris Shelton Live at the Hub
Secular Hub, 254 Knox Ct., Denver, co, USHub member and cult survivor Chris Shelton has published a new book on cult recovery called What Now? A Practical Guide to Life After a Cult? Chris has spoken at the Hub many times on cultic influence in our society and previewed his Rationality-Emotion-Morality (REM) Model of Human Behavior for the first time at the Secular Hub last year. This time he is coming back to share his accumulated knowledge of 12 years of cult research and recovery, to discuss the factors involved in recovery from destructive and authoritarian groups. This includes political/ideological movements which can also manifest cult characteristics such as MAGA. This new work from Chris is not a workbook or therapy, but an informational guide to understand the many pitfalls and traps that wait for the unwary, and how to avoid them. This is exactly the tool that friends and family need if they are going to help their loved ones transition from a cult mindset back to the real world.
While the topic is serious, past attendees will know that Chris brings humor and fun to every presentation and this will be no exception. The talk begins on Saturday, May 23rd at 5pm and will last about an hour, with a 30 minute Q&A period after.Books will be for sale at the event, however if you would like to order a book in advance you can do so here:
