🔆 The James R. Browning United States Courthouse opened in 1905 and is considered one of America’s most beautiful public buildings. It is headquarters for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which hears appeals from lower court decisions in the federal courts of nine Western states. This 60-minute tour includes visiting the old post office lobby on the first floor and available courtrooms upstairs.

"US Treasury architects... selected a design influenced by Italian Renaissance architecture with magnificent Beaux Arts grandeur. To achieve the high level of craftsmanship specified for the interior, skilled artisans were brought from Italy. Groundbreaking took place in 1897 and the building opened in 1905 to acclaim as 'a post office that’s a palace.'"
