🎶 Grateful Dead at the Movies -- Castro Theatre

🔆 If you haven't yet seen the interior of the beautifully renovated Castro Theater, here's your chance. Join me to celebrate the 35th anniversary of an iconic Grateful Dead show on the big screen. On August 8th, Dead Heads everywhere will gather for the 2026 Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies, featuring the complete June 17, 1991 concert from Giants Stadium.

The show opens with an electrifying "Eyes of the World," with the band in peak form from note one. The setlist blends classics like "Truckin" and "Uncle John's Band" with rarities including "Saint of Circumstance," "Might as Well," "New Speedway Boogie," and "China Doll." The centerpiece is "Dark Star," teased six times before finally bursting into full form. The night closes with The Band's "The Weight" — the perfect send-off.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest shows of the Dead's final decade, 6/17/91 is one of only two shows ever captured on 48-track tape. Enjoy a masterful surround sound mix by Jeffrey Norman and multi-camera visuals featuring rare on-screen appearances by Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick.

As a bonus, the screening includes an exclusive sneak preview of "Shakedown Street" from the upcoming Merriweather 6/30/85 release, plus a special introduction from David Lemieux, Grateful Dead Legacy Manager and Audio Archivist.
