🔆 In Into the Woods, a tangle of fairy tales — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel — collide when a Baker and his Wife set out to break a witch's curse. Act One plays like a fractured fairy tale in which everyone gets their wish; Act Two explores what happens after "happily ever after," as the consequences of those wishes catch up with the characters in darker, more complicated ways. The show is known for its intricate wordplay, layered score, and its central theme that actions have consequences — and that the stories we tell matter.
