๐ถ Hobo Paradise โ GG Park Bandshell
๐ Imagine stepping back in time to the late 1920s, when jazz, blues, and rags were fresh, raw, and unpredictable, and you've got Hobo Paradise โ equal parts classic American Songbook and unique territory all their own.
Led by guitarist/singer JL Stiles, whose syncopated guitar doubles as the band's "piano," this crew is stacked with pros: Mike Rinta on trombone (Santana, Sly & The Family Stone), Ben Bernstein (ex-New Monsoon) on upright bass, Jeremy Hoenig (Tracorum) on drums, trumpeter Doug Ellington โ yes, Duke's grand-nephew โ plus a killer sax/clarinet duo in Tom Griesser and New Orleans transplant Snakebite (Neville Bros., The Temptations).
Come dance, sing along, and step into a party that feels beamed in straight from a century ago. This band swings hard and doesn't let up.

๐ Led by the arts nonprofit Illuminate in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, the Golden Gate Park Bandshell underwent a $1 million renovation in 2020 that added a state-of-the-art Meyer Sound system and installed advanced theatrical and night lighting. Additionally, Harvey Milk's famous quote, "HOPE WILL NEVER BE SILENT" was inscribed along the top center of the historic structure.
