What we’re about
Version 2022 April 05
I found READING word by word, line by line,
still remains the "most efficient way"
for common people such as me,
who doesn't have much resources other than books.
Chatting with random people is not going to drastically promote anyone's linguistic ability,
in disregard whatsoever foreign languages
Welcome to meet people who are interested in having studying partner in
English
Italian
French
German
Looking for people who knows it TAKES TIME to achieve almost anything in the world, that is "skilled" related events.
such as drawing,
singing,
piano playing,
etc......

Version
Before 2019:
Let's hang out when attending SF operas or some HD operas in movie theaters. It'd be fun to build up some friends at Opera House. I go to La Travia 9 times in 2009 (I like only a few operas. If I like them, I try to go all of the performances). Maybe some of us like to humm along some songs to just to have fun. Check my Facebook link to have the most update event photos.

Mark Salzman / Iron and Silk 101-108 / Learn English 學英文
Louis Sutter Playground, 1150 Wayland St, San Francisco, CA, US2023 04 08
___________ Do you want to learn Traditional Chinese / Mandarin?
V. 2023 04 08
I was born and raised in Taiwan,
I operate Traditional Chinese fine,
since I had a higher than the average Chinese version of SAT back in Taiwan for my college entrance exam, along with similar test results in my grade school days,
thus I have good confidence to teach Traditional Chinese.
On 2023 04 07,
I finished doing Textquitling on River Town,
a book that was published in 2000 by Peter Hessler,
the book went onto New York Times’ Notable Book list,
that book also was granded an Kirimoto award in 2008.
At the end of the recommendation about China books that Peter Hessler recommended,
I surprisingly discovered that he recommended Iron and Silk,
which was published in 1986,
which was ALSO a New York Times’ bestseller.
It happened that I also did read it sometimes in 2005
Then I realized that there might be some characters such as Mark Salzman around,
who are eager to learn Traditional Chinese,
who will be happy to learn how to write the characters,
push themselves up above ordering wonton or Zhuozongtang chicken in Chinese restaurants,
(by the way,
zhuozong chicken was invented by a Taiwanese immigrant).
Thus I’m offering my Traditional Chinese training to whoever has the characters like Mark Joseph Salzman in the regard of language learning,
not limited to Traidtional Chinese,
but also extending to the languages of Italian and French and German, as a studying partner.
My current level of Italian and French is low, yet I can start to read something out of Wikipedia;
I have not really started with German yet.
However,
At my 30’s, when I first moved to United States, I barely spoke a word in English other than YES and NO,
I also never had teh luxuries to attend fancy schools such as Stanford or Berkeley,
I merely possess high school equivalent degree,
I also never had the opportunities to work with people from those fancy schools.
I basically studied on my own to warm through the linguistic world,
without talents, but diligence and some kind talks from surrounding people who were willing to chat with me.
What I’m trying to say here is:
Since I know how to advance a foreign language with limited help,
I suppose I’m potent to help you with your Traditaional Chinese / Italian / French / German studying.
Here is a sample of my English book reciting recording.
Youtube raided my account in 2022 Oct,
so that you won’t be able to hear my other “normal” talks in English when I described about the 180 Carl owners who violated the Department Building Inspection rules in 2013 and how the downstairs neighbor atrociously denied my access to the walkway window for fresh air to flush out their dog Stanley (may God bless his soul, I take he might have gone to see the Grand Dio by now) that caused my congenital asthmatic condition.
Kate DiCamillo Magician Elephant chapter 01 04 04
This is the matching text that I did textquitling with.
101 KateDiCamillo MagicianElephant 101.pdf
I’m in my late 50’s and my general health is not golden, thus I prefer to meet with people who have a sweet compostion similar to Mark Salzman’s.
If you are like him,
would like to learn Traditionol Chinese along with it’s writing system,
I’d like to offer my help.
Or if just want to review Iron and Silk with me,
that’s fine too.
BTW,
I mainly use emails to communicate,
I might be too senior for you
if you insist on using the facebook messenger type short message tool (whatsapp or wechat or telegram or discourse, or facetime, etc…).

V. 2022 09 27
I attended 2018 CCSF Fledenkrais course with a VERY VERY SWEET instructor,
Through her introduction, I learned there was a person called Moshe Fledenkrais.
I'd like to learn more about Moshe Fledenkrais, thus I started to do TextQuilting with his biography,
The title was A Life In Movement, Moshe Feldenkrais,
I'm on chapter 5 now, total is 8 chapters,
I just REREAD AGAIN yesterday, then I realized that he passed away in 1984,
yet this book was FIRST PUBLISHED in 2015,
2015!!!!
31 years AFTER HE PASSED AWAY,
The book was mostly written by Mark Reese,
Moshe Feldenkrais's student he encountered in 1975,
when Moshe came to set up an USA branch in San Francisco.
Mark Reese is a San Franciscan.
However, the book was published through an intensive editing work by Mark Reese's 2nd wife and his high school classmate that they had endured a 35+ years friendship.
because Mark Reese died at his 50's, not long after he started to do the writing job.
Thus I was totally shocked, (in an amazed and in awe way) learned that this book was completed by TONS of LOVE, CARE and DEDICATION,
the unrelenting DETERMINATION to make the quasi 600 pages of words in print.
Since I'm not really an English reader, for that I immigrated to USA when I was well over 30 years old,
when I arrived, I barely spoke a word in English other than YES and NO.
thus I progress slowly,
Do you think you'd be happy to STUDY together, help me and learn from each other for the Feldenkrais Method?
Certainly, the ULTIMATE GOAL is how to apply the physical movements into daily movements, so that we (at least I), can feel NOT SO FRAGILE at every single foot step as how I lead my current life now.
In another word, BECOMING OLD and OLDER with GRACE.

PS: due to personal injury, I mainly stay on emails or park paths in McLaren Park, rather than phone chatting.1 attendee
