Virtual Photo Critique June 13

Needs a location

$5.95

We're excited to continue offering the monthly photo critiques you've all been asking about! This photo critique is an opportunity to get feedback on your photography, to improve your work, and to pick up professional tips and tricks. Gain insight into your own photography, learn from the work of others and benefit from the opportunity to network with a small group of fellow photographers. For the duration of the shelter in place, we are moving our photo critique sessions from a shared physical location to a virtual event. We're getting better at hosting these, and we would love to keep meeting with you virtually to keep the community going. We're limiting attendance to no more than 20 people so everyone can get some feedback, and keeping the price to participate at $5.95. These are tough times for some of us, and we don't want the cost to keep anyone from attending, so please just send us a note if you need a free pass and we'll try to accommodate you. What We Do Professional Photojournalist Khaled Sayed will lead a live interactive critique of photographs submitted in advance by each attendee. Each attendee may submit up to three photographs for consideration at least a day before the meeting. The moderator will choose which ones to include. We try to limit the total number of photographs we include to 30 or so, so everyone has a chance to have some of their work discussed in detail. We'll be meeting online, and the URL will be sent to everyone who registers. Please plan to be there on time; we may need to skip over your pictures if you're not there to discuss them when they come up. How To Participate Attendance is limited to no more than 20 photographers, to provide focus and respect everyone's time. We do plan to record the event. We will send registered attendees a link to submit your photographs to the group's temporary shared gallery on Google Photos. You need to submit any photos to be considered at least 24 hours before the event for the opportunity to have your work be part of the live critique. These reviews are always more fun when you have photos in the mix to share and discuss.

Photography Crawl

Hi Folks, We hope everyone is staying safe and following all the Center for Disease Control guidelines to keep the pandemic from spreading. We're living through challenging times, and that means that we all have to shelter in place. Not great for a photo crawl. But times like these it's all the more important to support and grow our community of friends. Given the circumstances, we are moving our photo crawl from a shared physical location to a virtual event for the time being. So we would still love to meet with you virtually to give you an assignment you can work on at home. We've found a webinar service that will accommodate up to 100 of us at one time. Please sign up at the link below to add yourself to the event, and follow the directions to join us virtually this Saturday, May 23, from 11am to 1pm. Link coming soon. You just need to register to participate. We usually ask for a five dollar donation, but we know these are tough times, so we don't want to leave anybody out for lack of funds. If you're in a position to support what we're doing, you can use this link: https://www.paypal.me/khaledphotography As usual, we'll meet to give out the secret assignment for the day, and then give you an hour or so to carry it out before coming together again to share our experiences. Feel free to use whatever equipment you want to fulfill the assignment. And we would love to see you post your images to the Meetup group page gallery afterward.
