Sketching Chabot Space & Science Center in Redwood Park

Details
Both the top level of the parking garage (free to park) and the area
outside the Chabot Space Center offer your choice of 3 species of
conifers, several telescope domes, and views along the San Francisco
Bay Crest Trail, which runs within a few meters of the entrance. There
may be other parking garages with better views of San Francisco Bay,
but the third level of the garage features views into conifer canopies without having to high-scale a tree trunk! Trails into other parts of Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park pass along the side of the entry road.
Meet at front of parking garage, on right side, where Janet will be sketching the 2nd-growth redwoods next to the southwest corner. At 12:15 we'll meet back at the side of the parking garage for the sketchbook throwdown. Bring your lunch, water and coffee. You can probably access the restrooms inside but not much more without paying entrance fee.
Directions: Highway 13 exit at Joaquin Miller Road leads uphill and easterly
to Skyline. At the traffic light for Joaquin Miller & Skyline, turn left to follow Skyline a little over 2 miles of winding road between Joaquin Miller and Redwood parks until you reach the turnoff sign to the space center on the right side. Parking is free, but mass transit is hopeless to this site.
