Sketching Beautiful St. Vincent’s

Details
Our next Marin Sketchers Meet Up will be at the magnificent 100-year-old campus of St. Vincent’s, which sits on 780 acres of land off Hwy. 101, between San Rafael and Novato. There's a lot to sketch. The architecture of the buildings are an interesting combination of Gothic Revival and Mission Revival. The Most Holy Rosary Chapel is beautiful and ornate. Several schools located here, including the St. Vincent’s School for Boys, the Marin Montessori Jr. High and the Marin Dance Theatre. We're allowed to sketch anywhere on the campus, except in areas that are shown as under repair. Here's some history, FYI.
This is the fourth event of Marin Sketchers. Let's meet up at 10:00am in front of the church. This is also where we'll throw down sketches at noon.
Getting there by car:
Take Exit 457 off Hwy. 101 just off Hwy. 101 at Miller Creek Rd. East, which turns into St. Vincent's Dr. Proceed down the road through the eucalyptus trees to the parking lot next to the Church. Here’s a map.
Bring:
• a sketchbook or paper and drawing materials
• a stool or pad to sit on
Also:
• If you want to grab a coffee, tea or snack before or after sketching, I recommend the Marinwood Market which is just across the highway overpass.
• Tag your sketches #marinsketchers on Instagram.
• Call Bill at 415.846.1655, if you need assistance.
