SFSWM Virtual Book Club XXXIII: Splinter of the Mind's Eye
·OnlineOnlineHey Star Wars readers! For our 33rd virtual book club, we're going back to the beginning with Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Allen Dean Foster. This 1977 novel was the first piece of the Expanded Universe (aka Legends), giving rise to all the adventures beyond the films that many of us have explored for decades.
Shortly after the destruction of the (first) Death Star, Luke, Leia, 3PO and R2 crash land on Mimban while on a diplomatic mission. There they find not only the Empire, but also the "kaiburr crystal, a mysterious gem that would give the one who possessed it such powers over the Force that he would be all but invincible." Luke and Leia must find it before it falls into Darth Vader's hands!
