Yank Sing: Dim Sum Table for 6 (Family Style)

Details
Yank Sing
George and Alice Chan begin creating the Yank Sing chili pepper sauce, shortly after emigrating from China and before opening the restaurant. Like many Chinese families in the late 1940’s, they fled China during the Communist Revolution and settled in San Francisco in hopes of a better life for their four children.

We will be going to their beautiful 49 Stevenson location in celebration of their 1949 opening about 64 years ago.
I feel sad, reading some of my favorite reviews poking fun at Yank Sing. Eat like a tourist by SFGate, if I can have freshly steamed dim sum served to me at a table I don't need to be in Hong Kong, I love many dim sum places, and I am not an expert, I do this for fun, to meet new people and share a wonderful meal. **Yank Sing **is not fake to me, they aren't gouging, they have an attentive and great staff, their dumplings taste close to perfection whether you are there on a weekend or for lunch. The old red lady San Francisco Chronicle praises them because they still. have carts.
Again, I understand that Chinatown is one muni stop away, a few blocks, and there are a slew of amazing dim sum restaurants, I have favorites there too. For Sixty-Four years in San Francisco's cold brick, unforgiving Financial District. Yank Sing has done more than survive.
I'll go on the record and say I love Yank Sing.
I am unsure who the current owners are, but Henry and Judy Chan were the last mentioned.
How this Dim Sum Event works
Dim Sum literally translated is So close to my heart. A group meal of small plates meant to be shared, for this short meal, we are like one.
In that spirit, i'll order a smattering of six dishes to share between us, they will consist of Shellfish, Pork, Beef and vegetables. They'll add tax and tip and we'll split the bill six ways. There will be tea involved. Any extra orders need to be on a separate check.
Come and eat downtown on the weekend.

Administrative Trivia
Yank Sing's dim sum is family style, everyone shares and will be about $35 per person including tax and tip, unless people get carried away, I will be the only one ordering, but everyone will pick one dish.
Dress is smart casual.
Taxes and Fees
All taxes, service and tips will be added to the bill and it will be divided equally amongst the group. If our server allows an attendee to order a dish of their own, sometimes they do, sometimes they have not, of course they can, but they are still responsible for their portion of the bill.
