Dinner at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ: Table for 8
Details
Note: Gyu-Kaku is a chain. This Meetup will take place at the 855 Howard Street location in San Francisco.
Gyu-Kaku, meaning "Horn of the Bull" in Japanese, provides authentic Japanese yakiniku (grilled barbecue) dining experience where customers share premium cooked meats over a flaming smokeless grill, while sipping on Japanese sake, shochu, and frosty cold beers.
Gyu-Kaku has a bunch of menu options, but since the table is cooking and eating together, I have made an executive decision that we will get the Premium Holiday Course for $57/person, before tax, mandate, and tip. (About $74-77 after tax, mandate, and tip.)
This menu includes:
- Salad
- Miso soup
- Beek sukiyaki bibimbap
- Garlic noodle with chicken
- Garlic edamame
- Fried pork gyoza dumplings
- Prime kalbi short rib slices
- Harami skirt steak
- Salt & pepper filet mignon
- Umakara rib eye
- Angus beef rib
- New York steak
- Teriyaki chicken
- Garlic shrimp
- Mochi ice cream
Everyone must respect the grill master(s) and do their best not to start a fire!
Even though this is a “smokeless” grill, I suggest you wear clothes that you don’t mind smelling of barbeque.
Costs
Costs for extras, including drinks, will be borne by the people who order them, though I hope a few of you will join me in ordering the 100 oz holiday Kirin Beer Tower. No separate checks. Please be prepared to reimburse the host via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay.
