Jules: Pizza for 4
Details
In September of 2025, the San Francisco Chronicle dubbed newcomer Jules as “San Francisco’s best pizza restaurant.” In a city that’s home to Tony’s Napoletana, dem’s fighting words! Even Mayor Daniel Lurie calls Jules a favorite.
But it’s probably only fair that members of SF Foodies try all the pizza to judge for ourselves which is best. My fellow host Les had an event at Jules last year, and now it’s time for another group to visit again.
Pizzas at Jules are described as a cross between Neopolitan and New York styles. The crust is sourdough, and toppings are high-quality and a little exotic. Max Blachman-Gentile, a former culinary director at Tartine, started Jules as a pop-up and settled into this permanent space in Lower Haight last May. Check out the menu here.
Jules is a tough reservation to get, and the biggest table they book is for four people. They do charge a cancellation/no-show fee. I’m going to forego collecting deposits in advance, but please don’t be a jerk. Honor your commitment and attend if you sign up; otherwise drop with some notice so someone on the wait list can attend.
Costs
Pizzas serve one hungry person or two less hungry people, and cost between $23-28. It would be fun to share a few pies and possibly appetizers or desserts, though I won’t insist on it. Generally, though, I expect your food costs will be well under $50. Drinks can increase your total.
Each diner’s orders will be calculated separately; however, shared items will be divided up amongst those who eat them. No separate checks. Please be prepared to split the check and pay via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay.
Taxes and Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and likely a mandate (5-6%). We will add a gratuity of 20%.
