Zachary’s Chicago Pizza (College Ave Oakland Location): Table for 6

I am a Chicagoan, but I have never tried this Chicago pizza. Let’s go see what all the fuzz is about.

Note that there are multiple Zachary’s locations. The event is at the 5801 College Avenue, Oakland location, near the Rockridge BART station.

This location offers thick and thin crust pizza, and with a big enough group, we can sample one of each. Zachary’s describes its two styles this way:

• Stuffed: We literally “stuff” each pizza with the highest quality cheese and toppings that you choose. The stuffed pizza “pie” is then covered with our zesty diced tomato sauce and baked until the buttery crust is golden brown.
• Thin: Our buttery crust is rolled to a moderate thickness and dusted with cornmeal.

Costs
Two large pizzas will probably work out to about $25/pp. Appetizers and drinks will add to the total.

Food and drinks will be the responsibility of the person(s) who ordered them. No separate checks. Please be prepared to split the check at the event and pay via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Cash.

Taxes and Fees
Dining in Oakland has a sales tax (10.75%). The restaurant may charge a mandate of 5-6% and a mandatory gratuity of up to 20% for large parties.
