An easy to use library that creates hashes for data structures and files, and a related decorator for persistent caching.
Lightening talk: Remember to .close() file-like objects - Cody Maloney
Lessons learned and guidance from bugs around unclosed file-like objects in upgrades to newer Python versions.
Main talk: PostgreSQL pgvector for Pythonistas - Pamela Fox
Learn how to use pgvector, the Postgres extension for vector storage and querying, from Python scripts and web apps. I'll include demos with the most common drivers and ORMs, like psycopg, asyncpg, SQLAlchemy, SQLModel, and deploy a full FastAPI app using pgvector for a vector search API. I'll also talk about embedding model options and indexing strategies.
Pamela is a Principal Cloud Advocate at Microsoft. She's been in the industry for 20 years, doing things like developer relations at Google, full-stack engineering at Coursera, course development at Khan Academy. She's also taught at UC Berkeley and for non-profits like GirlsWhoCode, TEALS, and CoderDojo.
