🔎 First talk (~25 mins + Q&A)
"Revolutionizing the financial industry through Python and Open source"
Speaker: Didier Lopes, Founder & CEO at @openbb_finance
Didier will talk about his journey from the pain points of doing investment research to starting his own investment research platform in Python and raising $8.8M to democratize investment research through open source. He will introduce the OpenBB Terminal - the famous open source investment research platform, and some of its functionalities. In addition, he will present the OpenBB SDK which allows programmatic access to the data that OpenBB Terminal has access to, allowing devs to build products on top.
🔎 Second talk (~25 mins + Q&A)
“Async can be easy: scaling structured concurrency with static and dynamic analysis”
Speaker: Zac Hatfield Dodds, a lead @ Anthropic, an AI safety and research company in San Francisco.
In his presentation, Zac will discuss the advantages of using async Python for structured concurrency. He'll explore the benefits of error handling, timeouts, cancellation, and readable code that async programming offers. Zac will introduce tools like flake8-trio for static analysis and demonstrate how dynamic analysis can help identify potential issues. With these techniques, even inexperienced developers can write elegant async code for various applications, such as web scraping, process management, or game development, without worrying about common pitfalls.
