Abstract: If you didn't attend PyCon US 2024, you might be wondering what folks discussed during the hallway track. In this talk, we'll delve into a few hot topics that comprised a lot of hallway conversations.
First, the future and potential demise of the global interpreter lock (GIL) was on many people's minds. Second, just in time compilers just couldn't get anymore attention. Additional notable highlights from the hallway include sub-interpreters and rust.
