Join us for a lively SF Democracy Week event featuring Assemblymember David Chiu, member of the California State Assembly, who represents the 17th Assembly District (east San Francisco) and Brett Goldstein, Director, Defense Digital Service (DDS). We’ll start the event with an overview of the topic. Then Asm. Chiu and Brett Goldstein will talk about what they do. We'll then have a fireside chat discussing a variety of technology and democracy topics, including Asm. Chiu’s work on technology in the City and Brett's work at the DDS.

This SF Democracy Week event is a partnership between SFTech4Good, Startup Policy Lab, and Exygy. SF Democracy Week brings together Bay Area organizations working to secure and advance democracy through technology.
About the DDS
The Defense Digital Service (DDS), https://dds.mil/, was established in 2016 as a SWAT team of nerds that provides the best in modern technical knowledge to bolster national defense. Our range of talent includes world-class software developers, designers, product managers, and bureaucracy hackers from both the private sector and within Government. DDS focuses on projects that advance DoD's most important initiatives that are critical to the well-being of service members and core operations.
About the Venue:
Exygy is located two blocks from the 24th Street BART station in the US Bank building. Please enter through the main lobby, using the elevator to arrive at the 3rd floor. Bikes can be parked in the event space.
