Hey members, for all who are looking for a relaxing weekday hike, away from the city, here's a lovely scenic nature hike for you!

It's our 'Smell the Roses' Nature Hike & Kopi TALK Get-Together for you to meet like-minded hiking & walking friends.

Yes, it's time to smell the roses. Nature is thriving. So continuing our Parks & Nature Flora & Fauna Trails, this time round let's do a lovely morning nature walk/ hike from the meandering Bishan Park/River Canal > AMK Heritage & Mural Trail > Ang Mo Kio/Bishan Parks > Lower Peirce Reservoir before we proceed to the Old Sembawang Hills Food Centre (optional) for some local delicacies (brunch) or Teh-tarik/Kopi Time with our new-found friends & Hiking Kakis.

This leisure hike will take us through some nice lovely water-lily ponds, fruit trees & gardens, rivers, streams, hanging willow trees as well as some picturesque bridges before we walk under the shaded canopy of trees at Peirce Reservoir.

If you find the route too long for you, you may exit at either Marymount Road, Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 or at Upper Thomson Road. There will be 2 water re-fueling stations along the route.

HOKKAIDO is a region of awesome beauty, charm, history and of course great food! With award-winning UNESCO World Heritage sites, this huge island in the north with it's vast countryside is still largely unexplored by tourists especially the spectacular National Parks, turquoise lakes & alpine scenery.

It's pleasant cool temperate climate even in summer compared to the rest of Japan plus the flowers blooming season makes it a very popular getaway destination in July & August.

This Jul/ Aug (with temperatures around 15 degrees), TLC will be heading to this beautiful, breathtaking island. We'll hike, eat, explore and enjoy the beauty and serenity of this place as well as join the locals to drink and party in the many festivals happening during this time.

While the scenery resembles parts of Switzerland and Alpine Europe's snow-capped mountains, vast rolling fields, sprawling flowers and picturesque faux-German cottages, the green paddy fields, ubiquitous hot spring resorts, bubbling onsens and volcanoes serves as a reminder that you are still in Japan.

I'll be sharing the proposed itinerary as well as the breathtaking places we're gonna visit and activities we'll be doing during our pre-trip briefing once RSVP closes. You are most welcome to share and ask questions and make your own comparison on the 100+ places you'll get to see that most Travel Agencies will not bring you to.

Note: Unlike the usual 7D itinerary to touristy places offered by Tour Agencies, this is our own specially designed 9D self-drive itinerary that takes you to explore many places (accessible only by private vehicles) to enjoy the beauty of the countryside, lakes, mountains and some amazing 'off-the-beaten' track places curated from my 40+ years of travelling in Japan. Of course, we'll still be visiting some of Hokkaido's "must-see" places of interests as well.
However, unlike traveling with strangers, we travel together as a Team. As this is a fun-loving group of friends exploring and seeking new activities, participants are encouraged to get to know each other, have fun and come with a spirit of adventure.
