About us
Travellers on ancient trade routes huddled around a fire at a caravanserai and shared stories. We continue this tradition through our meets.
We explore interactions beyond typical commercial tourism. Our gatherings are informal discussions on topics such as how to connect with people where we go and learn about their lives. We invite you to share your experiences. Meetings take place via Zoom and at various locations across Southeast Asia, including cafes, schools, public libraries, and co-working spaces.
Your Privacy: We don't send commercial messages or advertise external events. If someone requests your contact information, please inform us, and we'll take action. Photos may be taken during our gatherings by us or our venue hosts. If you prefer not to be photographed, let us know beforehand. For hybrid gatherings (both Zoom and in-person), we provide an off-camera area at the physical venue for those who don't want to appear on the Zoom video feed.

Caravanserai is a project by Openmeets. We believe that our communities hold a wealth of knowledge waiting to be discovered. To tap on this, we created these meets where people from all backgrounds, ages, and occupations can learn from each other. There is a lot of talk about “smart” cities, we believe that a truly smart community is one that becomes smarter by sharing.
