What we’re about
Travellers on ancient trade routes huddled around a fire at a caravanserai and shared stories. We continue this tradition through our meets.
Learn how to connect with people around the world and explore places beyond the regular tourist hangouts. We do not have speakers or presentations. All our meets are discussions. We welcome you to share your experiences. The meets are held via Zoom and at cafes, schools, public libraries and co-working spaces across South East Asia.
We do not send commercial messages or post external events. If anyone hassles you for emails, private contacts etc., please let us know, we will be happy to block the offender.
We or our venue hosts may take photos of the meetup. if you do not want to appear in the photos, do let us know before the meetup.
For hybrid meets (Zoom and in person), we have a off camera area at the physical venue for those who don't want to appear on Zoom video feed.

Caravanserai is a project by Openmeets. We believe that there is a wealth of knowledge hidden in our communities. To tap on this, we created these meets where people from all backgrounds, ages, and occupations can learn from each other. There is a lot of talk about “smart” cities, we believe that a truly smart community is one that becomes smarter by sharing.
