About us
Welcome to People and places (formerly Caravanserai)
A free, non-commercial meetup open to everyone — no travel experience needed. We share stories, explore ethnic food, and connect with travelers passing through our city.
Why people and places?
In the days past, traveling caravans would stop at a caravanserai — a wayside inn. Around the fire, they made friends and traded stories of the people and places they'd encountered.
We're inspired by that spirit: a place to pause, connect, and learn from one another.

Privacy statement
All photos collected for show and tell are deleted at the end. Same with emails that may be needed for some meetups. For online meets, feel free to turn off your camera. We request participants to seek permissions from others before taking photos at the meets at cafe/other venues.
Meets at the NLB
We are thankful to the NLB for offering the venue to us as part of their LearnX initiative. The NLB may take some photos at our event at the library. If you do not want to be featured, do let us know in advance.
Meet at cafes, other venues
We may host smaller meets at cafes. I suggest buying a coffee or something to thanks the venue. I have no affiliation with, or other relation to, the venues. They are chosen purely for convenience and I try hard to find affordable places.
