Shut Up & Write!™ at Wolverine Farm
Join us for an hour of writing! I've found that it can be amazingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7pm on Wednesday evenings at the Wolverine Farm Letterpress and Publick House. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, poem, or just plain work stuff, you're invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE • 7:05pm-ish – Quick intros as we get settled. • 7:15pm – Timer starts and the writing hour begins. • 8:15pm – The end of the hour is announced, but if you don't want to socialize or head out, you can always keep writing. Wolverine Farm closes at 9pm. Optional socializing happens from 8:15 to 8:30pm. Writing is very solitary, so connecting (and commiserating) with other writers can be a great thing. Being late is okay—just show up and get settled, then check in with me after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. VENUE INFORMATION • Outlets are limited, so make sure your laptop or other device is fully charged before you arrive. • Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block out the overhead music or the conversation by other patrons. Although WFP is generally fairly quiet, when an event upstairs lets out it can get loud, so come prepared just in case! • WiFi is free and available within the building or outside on the patio. • There is a wide variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic (beer, wine, prosecco) beverages available, and limited snacks. **Please thank our hosts by purchasing something, and don't bring your own food or drink other than a water bottle.** • We will be downstairs if there's space available. Otherwise, check the upstairs event room if you can't find us. • Parking at the venue is very limited—come early, and in the warmer months, ride your bike if you can. Happy writing, and I look forward to seeing you!

    What we're about

Shut Up & Write!™ is more than a movement, more than a good idea. We’re a method of writing that delivers. As an international organization, we are thousands of writers in a worldwide community, but most importantly, we are writers who write together in a local cafe. Join us.

We have events every week, all over. Sometimes we talk after. Whatever you’re writing, whatever form it takes, wherever you are in your process, you won’t be the only one.

And if you need help with your writing, we offer that too.

    Meetup Event Format

It is an empowering and rewarding experience to write an hour each week, at the same time and place. It serves as powerful support for building your daily writing discipline.

RSVP and please arrive 10–15 minutes early to get settled. At the Meetup our Organizer will lead introductions and then everyone will sit down and write.
Afterwards, feel free to get to know each other. Members often talk about their successes and challenges as writers. The Shut Up & Write!™ format brings a social facet to a normally isolated craft.

Our Meetups are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

This is your time to write.
