What we’re about
Shut Up & Write! is a global community that empowers writers to overcome procrastination, silence their inner critic, and make consistent progress on their projects. Our events provide a structured and focused environment where writers can come together, set aside distractions, and achieve their writing goals.
What to Expect
Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, a period of focused writing, and a final check-in to share our progress. Once you arrive, our host will lead introductions, and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time. Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

Format resuming next week:
So many changes! New time, starting at the crack of dawn, 10:30am! We encourage you to be fed and watered in time to all start together at 11am. Plus, we return to our ancestral homeland, at The Abbey coffee shop. Check back each week in case we explore a new venue. But, the drill remains the same, perfect formula:Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice, but you are free to share thoughts, ideas, and questions about writing....
