- Conditioning Hike to Henninger Flats2260 Pinecrest Dr, Altadena, CA
Enjoy great views of the LA basin and the night sky while getting an aerobic workout as we hike 5.25 miles round trip, with 1400'+ gain.
Meets every Thursday except holidays at 6:45 PM outside the Pinecrest gate. We start walking promptly at 7 PM, and the entry gate will be locked thereafter, so please arrive in time to fill out waiver/signup sheet. (Gate can always be exited.) Bring water, sturdy shoes, optional flashlight/headlight. Remember the neighbors, please keep voices down as we gather. Steady rain cancels. No dogs please.

- Hike to Mount Hillyer (6203')942 Wiladonda Dr, La Cañada Flintridge, CA
Join us for this beautiful loop hike to Mount Hillyer. Our route takes us through the best of the Chilao-Horse Flats area, climbing through stands of pine and incense cedar and past immense boulders. At the summit we'll take in views of Mount Wilson, San Gabriel Peak, and Strawberry Peak to the west and Mount Pacifico to the north. Round-trip statistics for the day will be 6.5 miles and 1300' elevation gain. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Level: Moderate.
Bring: Sturdy footwear, 2-3 liters of water, snacks, lunch, clothing layers, sun protection, and your filled-out emergency medical form (see below).

Additional Directions: Alternatively, meet us at the trailhead at 8:45 AM: Drive up Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) to the Angeles Forest Highway turnoff. Go left on Angeles Forest and drive to Upper Big Tujunga Road. Turn right on Upper Big Tujunga and drive back up to Angeles Crest Highway. Turn left on Angeles Crest and drive to upper Chilao campground. Drive past the visitor center (~1/2 mile) until you reach the Silver Moccasin trail parking area that intersects the road. An Adventure Pass is required.

Join us for a spring wildflower hike along a section of the Pacific Crest Trail to Liebre Mountain. This area has a diverse plant community and the blooms should be amazing and abundant. Round trip distance will be 7 miles with 1850' gain. We'll go at a relaxed pace, as we will be stopping often to admire all the different wildflower species and take photographs. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.
Level: Moderate.

Getting to the trailhead: We will caravan to the trailhead as follows: Take I-5 north to SR 138. Go 4 miles east on SR 138 to a paved road signed as Old Ridge Route Road, which is the beginning of Los Angeles County Road N2. Turn right. Go 2.2 miles east to Pine Canyon Road (which is a continuation of N2). Turn left. Go 4.2 miles east on N2, passing mile marker 13.6. Park along the highway.

Let's enjoy a 3 mile evening hike on level trails along Pasadena's Arroyo Seco. We'll learn about natural and human history of the Arroyo and programs to restore streamside habitats. Dogs are not allowed on this hike. Meet 6:30 PM at trailhead next to San Pascual Stables at 221 San Pascual Ave, South Pasadena CA 91030. We will return to the trailhead by or before 9 PM.
Level: Easy.
Bring: Water; shoes/boots suitable for trail walking; clothing appropriate for weather.
