See all- Sleeping Bear Point Trail Hike at Sleeping Bear Dunes National LakeshoreSleeping Bear Point, Glen Arbor, MI
Now that the weather is cooler, it's time to take a HIKE! This will be a little more challenging hike, with lots of sand, and rolling hills, maybe a ghost forest, too. https://www.nps.gov/places/000/sleeping-bear-point-trail.htm Trail will be about 2.8 miles long, but walking in sand can be strenuous. In the final section the sand dune will give way to woods & shrubs. Let's explore, enjoy, and celebrate our National Parks!
Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring plenty of water. Sunscreen , too. We will meet in the parking lot at the trail head at the end of Sleeping Bear Dunes Drive past Glen Haven. A National Park Entrance Pass is Required. You can purchase one at the Visitors Center in Empire.
Please RSVP so we know to meet you at the Trail Head . All participants will need to sign a liability form for Sierra Club. If Severe weather on Saturday, the event will be rescheduled. Contact Vicki at cvolsen17@yahoo.com for more information.
