We’re a friendly group of local R professionals, meeting regularly to share stories and what inspires us - working in the R environment.
We do this all through a range of informal talks, with the conversation continuing in the bar afterwards. We are open to all skill levels whether you are just curious, an early learner or advanced user.
Whether you use R for data analysis in Health, Academia or Industry we'd love to have you join our community in the Brighton or Sussex area.
Over time, we hope to expand the meetup to include workshops and how to’s within the R environment – so watch this space. Indeed, if you have a 'stoRy' you want to share with the group, please get in touch as we’re always looking for more speakers.

Abbie Brookes, Data Scientist at Datacove
Abbie began her interest in marketing from a background in consumer Psychology, later joining Datacove to lead in building econometric models for our clients.Across the last 3 years, her client portfolio has covered Xero Accounting, David Lloyd Leisure, WaterAid, and multiple others.

Colin Longstaff, Retired Scientist, formerly with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)Talk Title: The evolution of a Shiny app
Colin has developed Shiny apps to standardise the analysis of biochemical data, now used in laboratories worldwide for over six years. He has enhanced them with improved UI and server code, using cards, modules, tidyverse, and shinylive, to make them more efficient and engaging. In his talk, he will also explore options for sharing apps online, including shinyapps.io and Posit Connect Cloud linked to GitHub.
